Valley Hand & Physical Therapy was established in the Cowichan Valley in 2018 after Ryan Scott settled on Vancouver Island from Alberta.
Having recently moved from Alberta to the Cowichan Valley in 2016, he is still enjoying settling into the area both professionally and recreationally. Ryan is a registered physical therapist and certified hand therapist. As such, he has undergone additional training and certification to specialize in assessing and treating upper limb injuries, fractures, surgeries, movement disorders, and arthritis, to name a few.
He is a practicing therapist with over 10 years of work experience, continually attending courses and conferences to stay current with best practice, new techniques and research. He offers focused one-on-one assessments and treatments.
Treatments can include:
- education
- exercises (range of motion, stretching, strengthening)
- manual therapy techniques
- splinting
- functional and dexterity re-training
Treatment is a collaborative process with you, the client, actively involved. Both physician and self-referrals are accepted.
If he is not in the clinic, you might find him cycling, hiking, camping, or exploring a local beach with his wife and young daughters.
